VFW Christmas Food Box Distribution Sets Record

VFW Post 2259 in Conway, with its Ladies Auxiliary and Honor Guard, set a new record for the number of Christmas Food Boxes provided to less fortunate families in the Greater Conway Community.  A total of 66 boxes of complete Christmas dinner fixin's,  plus toys for families with children under 12, were distributed on Sunday, December 18th.

VFW Post 2259 thanks all who worked so hard to raise the over $2000.00 used to purchase the necessary items, to all those who donated to the Christmas activities fund and who labored to assemble the boxes over the weekend.  A special thanks goes to Charlie and Karen Hooten, Rita Toal, Leon Gilbert, Jim and Cindy Brewer and all of the Post Honor Guard and participating Ladies Auxiliary members for their tireless efforts. We also want to thank Bob Riddle to at the Salem Ave. Kroger store and Price Cutter Foods for their support in this community project at this time of sharing.

The good thing about setting records is that there is more incentive to breaking the record next year.  With the support of the community and community businesses, anything is possible.  VFW Post 2259, Ladies Auxiliary and Honor Guard ask all our friends and neighbors to remember those in the military serving away from home this holiday season and to be with their families living in local communities.

From all the members of VFW Post 2259, its Ladies Auxiliary and Honor Guard,  we wish all a Merry and Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
